His grandfathers name was Marcus French (since that is not legible on the immigration card) and he was either heading to, or returning from, a civilian post with the Newfoundland Overseas Forestry Unit in Scotland.

 

Original 1913 Chair from The Smokeroom - owned by Heber McGurk.
Heber was asked by Captain Guy Earle the last owner captain of the SS Kyle to have the Chair Re-upholstered. After Feb, 4 1967 storm to drive the ship to its final resting place it was forgotten.
