Cordenons is a small town about 60 km/h north of Venezia (Venice) at the base of the Dolomites Mountains in the Province of Pordenone (por-da-no-ne). Cordenons was once in the province of Udine (U-da-ni) until 1968.

Since no one in my family has ever been back since my Grandparents left for America in 1921 Elizabeth and I spent 12 days from Oct,1 -12th 2008 to find my Roots.

DePiero is one of the most dominant and oldest name in the town and because there was so many families with the same last name they gave them all a nickname and ours was Nut (noot) which means without clothing. It was told to me by my new found cousin Attilio Turrin that the tale says (Nut) came from someone who was seen without clothes on.

Cordenons è una cittadina circa un Nord di 60 km/ora di Venezia (Venezia) alla base delle montagne delle dolomia nella provincia di Pordenone (por-da-nessun-Ne). Cordenons era una volta nella provincia di Udine (U-da-Ni) fino al 1968.

Poiché nessuno nella mia famiglia è stata mai parte posteriore da quando i miei nonni hanno lasciato per l'America in Elizabeth 1921 ed ho passare i 12 giorni dal 1° ottobre -12th 2008 per trovare le mie radici.

DePiero è uno del nome più dominante e più vecchio nella città e perché ci era tante famiglie con lo stesso cognome che hanno dato loro tutte un soprannome ed il nostro erano dado (noot) che significa senza vestiti. È stato detto me dal mio nuovo cugino trovato Attilio Turrin che il racconto dice che (dado) è venuto da qualcuno che fosse veduto senza vestiti sopra.

 After researching through the church and municipal building with all documents there are no longer any of my Family living there with the last name DePiero (Nut).  With Newly found Cousins with the last names Turrin & Bidinost two other oldest and dominant names in Cordenons still to this day.

Dopo la ricerca attraverso la chiesa e la costruzione comunale con tutti i documenti ci non sono più c'è ne della mia famiglia che vive là con il cognome DePiero (dado).  Con i cugini ancora recentemente trovati con i cognomi Turrin & Bidinost altri due i più vecchi e nomi dominanti in Cordenons a questo giorno.

All of this would have never been possible but by luck, we happen to pick the best Bed and Breakfast in Cordenons on the internet called B & B Kip, Via delle Acque 23, 33084 Cordenons (PN) www.bbkip.com owned by Rebecca who went out of her way to spend hours a day for days translating for us. The hospitality and accommodations were outstanding, A must stay.
