Early 20th Century

Newfoundlanders Building New York City USA

Billy O'Driscoll, unhooking the choker from the crane. Many Iron workers came from Conception Harbour, Conception Bay, Newfoundland. The picture was taken around 1932, back in the days where they would just throw a few planks over the hole and keep going up.
*Picture's submitted by his son Paul

The Ironworkers from Newfoundland were known as "Fish" Gangs back in those days.

More Photos to be added of Billy O'Driscoll, cousin and friends sitting on this famous beam.

Newfoundlander's (Fish Gang), working on a bridge ..

Those were the men who helped build the skyline and infrastructure of North America !
