A Message from Keith Hardy.
Hi ,
We are certainly sorry to have missed the short
visit this past weekend . We really were not on time
anyway as it was 2:30 pm we arrived there from
Conception Bay South . We never had the right timing
as had another look around 5 pm. . The pictures on
the site are fine for sure . I figured the weather
tossed the plans out of whack and thus was not
watching Ed Swain on NTV on Monday either . Oh well
!
I bet you were all the
conversation onboard ship that night as the 1st.
class passengers dealt cards in the smoke room
while Sol. played the accordion to everyone's
delight . The 2nd. mate telling the captain that
while on his watch that afternoon this woman swam
out to the starboard side but did not ask to come
onboard . The captain said nothing but wondered to
himself that there must be liqueur onboard ? Or has
my mate gone mad !
Everyone onboard
settling in for the night at safe anchorage in
stream at Hr. Grace while strong NE. winds blow
straight in from the open bay outside . Another day
for the SS Kyle ! She never retired after near one
hundred years of age she now sits there for all to
see and those who are old enough to remember the
way she was in another era . Oh , to see her stack
release the black smoke from the coal dust below
firing her boilers to once again set to sea .
regards ,
Keith Hardy for the
